I started modelling … in 2006 after doing make-up for a plus model and being scouted by the photographer. The photographer asked if I had ever considered modelling, and to be honest, I hadn’t… So being the dreamer I am, I agreed to shoot with her, if only to see if this could be a possibility. After we did the shoot, she posted the photos on a bulletin board and soon after I was getting emails and phone calls about shooting for clients and it was shortly after that, I signed to my first agency. I learned about beauty from … my mother. She always struggled with her weight while I was growing up. Through her ups and downs, the funny part was, to me her beauty didn’t change based on her size. It taught me a very valuable lesson, that beauty comes from within and not being a certain weight. People don’t know this but … I love Paula Deen and she is the reason I love to cook. I feel most beautiful when … I am around my daughter. That type of unconditional love is what makes me the happiest and therefore brings out my innermost beauty. I also love being a model and going through the hair and make-up process at shoots. I love fashion and adore getting to play dress up for work. I express myself through fashion by … accentuating my waist and adding to my hourglass shape since I love my curves! My favourite quotation is … “An eye for an eye makes the whole world blind”- Gandhi If I could tell a young girl anything I would say … never give up on your dreams. Anything is possible and I am an example of that. Don’t let any “no’s” stop you … and most importantly, never take yourself too seriously! Life is a roller coaster, enjoy the ride. My ultimate modelling job would be … to book a hair campaign. It is an ultimate goal of mine. Ever since I can remember, I have had long flowing hair. My hair is something I’ve always loved switching and playing with, it’s part of my fashion. Who says curvy women can’t sell hair products?
