I hope to bring to the fashion world … a different view of the typical stereotype of what a model should look like. Being plus-size, I am living proof that you can be beautiful and healthy at size 16. I’m also pushing 37 years old and I feel more beautiful today than I did at 27. So weight and age are not a detriment to feeling beautiful. I’d like to display to the fashion world that us real women are representative of the general public and we also fit into the world of fashion. My style is … classy and feminine a la Audrey Hepburn. I love pearls! I really enjoy … travelling to new and exciting destinations. I like road trips throughout Canada and the United States, as well as overseas trips to Europe (Prague is my all time favourite place to visit because of its history, the arts, great food and drinks, the clean and safe environment – oh, and the shopping!). I’m passionate about learning and experiencing different cultures and customs, foods, music, history, and just how differently people live in general. If I could tell a young girl anything I would say … always be confident in yourself. There is no other you in the world, and that alone makes you beautiful. Confidence is attractive and magnetic. Find that skill or interest that you are good at and continue to do it, this will build your confidence. Now share that with someone else and make them smile. My favourite quotation is … IF IT IS TO BE, IT IS UP TO ME! I feel most beautiful when … I feel healthy. When I eat clean and exercise I feel extremely beautiful. My skin glows and I have a positive vibe that lasts throughout the day. My ultimate modelling job would be … for a classy clothing line like White House Black Market or higher-end, Valentino. I love White House Black Market’s styles and fabrics. I’d really like to model their clothes because they have no plus-size models (that I’ve seen in their marketing) and I feel that I could bring a whole new dimension with the plus-size market.
